How to release vinyl

Vinyl mastering is a separate stage of audio preparation that takes into account the physical characteristics of the format. Essentially, it’s the final processing of already mixed tracks. During mastering, the song is adjusted to meet listening standards: volume is leveled, frequency balance is fine-tuned, and depth and clarity are added. This results in a dedicated version made specifically for vinyl.

Vinyl releases are often distinguished by their refined and visually appealing design. This includes the artwork for the cover, labels, inner sleeves, and any additional materials such as booklets or posters. Everything must meet the technical requirements of the printing plant — including resolution, color profiles, and file formats.

Before the full production run begins, the pressing plant sends 3 to 5 test pressings. These are used to check the sound quality, overall production level, and identify any potential technical defects. It’s crucial to listen to the test copies carefully and approve them before giving the go-ahead for mass production.

Once the test pressings are approved, the main production starts. The audio is first cut onto lacquer discs, which are then used to create metal stampers — the molds used to press vinyl records. The records are produced on large machines that heat vinyl pellets and press them into the desired shape and size.

We take full care of the vinyl delivery process — from preparing all the necessary documents to handling customs clearance and ensuring the records arrive directly at our label. You don’t have to worry about logistics — we’ll take care of everything!

Each batch is carefully checked for defects — cracks, noise, audio dropouts, or visual flaws. Sound quality is key. While part of the inspection may be done at the pressing plant, we personally check every record for potential issues. We assemble all our releases in-house and have all the necessary equipment to do so.
